If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have your parent or legal guardian review and agree to these Terms on your behalf.

4. Account Registration and Security

4.1 Registration

  • Notify us immediately at support@cardme.world if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account;
  • Accept full responsibility for all activities conducted under your account.

4.3 One Account Per Person

Each individual may maintain only one personal account. The creation of multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions, bans, or Platform policies is strictly prohibited.

5. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities

You agree to use the Platform solely for lawful purposes. You must not, and must not facilitate or encourage others to:

  • Post, upload, or transmit content that is defamatory, obscene, harassing, threatening, or otherwise unlawful;

  • Engage in spam, phishing, or any form of unsolicited commercial communication;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its underlying systems;
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access or harvest data from the Platform without prior written consent;

  • Exploit the page-claim process through fraudulent or misleading representations;
  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.

CardMe.World reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to remove any content that violates these Terms and to suspend or permanently terminate accounts found to be in breach.

6. Content Ownership and Licensing

6.1 Your Content

You retain full ownership of all content you submit to the Platform ("User Content"), including profile information, photos, messages, and discussion posts. By submitting User Content, you grant CardMe.World a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, display, and distribute such content solely for the purposes of operating and improving the Platform.

6.2 Your Representations

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights to all User Content you submit;
  • Your User Content does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party;
  • Your User Content complies with all applicable laws and these Terms.

6.3 Removal of Content

You may delete your own User Content at any time. Deletion removes content from public view; however, residual copies may persist in system backups for a limited period in accordance with our data retention practices.

7. Public Entity Pages

7.1 Auto-Generated Pages

CardMe.World may create entity pages for public places, organisations, and events using publicly available sources including Wikipedia. Such pages are clearly marked as unverified and do not imply any affiliation with, or endorsement by, the named entity.

7.2 Claiming a Page

Registered users may submit a request to claim ownership of an unclaimed public entity page. By submitting a claim, you represent that you are an authorised representative of the named entity. Fraudulent claims may result in immediate account termination and, where applicable, legal action.

7.3 Page Owner Responsibilities

Approved page owners are responsible for ensuring that all content on their managed pages is accurate, lawful, and complies with these Terms. Page owners are granted moderation controls over the discussion section of their pages, including the right to delete comments and restrict users, subject to CardMe.World's overriding right to intervene.

8. Discussion and Comments

The Platform provides a public discussion feature on place and event pages. By participating in discussions, you agree that:

  • All comments must comply with Section 5 (User Conduct and Prohibited Activities);
  • Comments are publicly visible and may be indexed by search engines;
  • CardMe.World and authorised page owners may remove any comment, or restrict any user, at their discretion;
  • Each comment is assigned a permanent public URL and may be shared or linked externally;
  • Abuse reports submitted by users are reviewed by CardMe.World's moderation team, who retain final authority over all moderation decisions.

9. Data, Privacy, and Cookies

9.1 Data We Collect

When you use the Platform, we collect information you provide directly (such as your name, email address, and profile content), as well as technical data generated by your use of the Platform (such as IP addresses, browser type, and access times).

9.2 How We Use Your Data

We use your data exclusively to:

  • Provide and maintain the Platform's core functionality;
  • Communicate with you regarding your account and the Platform;
  • Enforce these Terms and protect the safety and integrity of the Platform;
  • Improve and develop Platform features based on aggregate, anonymised usage patterns.

9.3 Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes. We may disclose your data where required by applicable law, court order, or governmental authority, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of CardMe.World, its users, or the public.

9.4 Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting support@cardme.world.

9.5 Cookies

The Platform uses strictly necessary session cookies to maintain your authenticated session. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. By using the Platform, you consent to the use of session cookies as described herein.

9.6 Public Profile Data

Information you include on your public profile — including your name, biography, location, and profile picture — is accessible to any visitor to the Platform and may be indexed by external search engines. You are responsible for determining what information you choose to make public.

10. Intellectual Property

All elements of the Platform not constituting User Content — including but not limited to the CardMe.World name, logo, design, software, and underlying code — are the exclusive intellectual property of CardMe.World and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Platform for its intended purposes. No rights are granted to reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of any Platform element without prior written consent.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. CardMe.World does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CardMe.World and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of business — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Platform, even if CardMe.World has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In no event shall CardMe.World's total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under these Terms exceed the greater of (a) the amount paid by you, if any, to CardMe.World in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars (USD $100).

13. Termination

CardMe.World reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that CardMe.World reasonably believes violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, third parties, or the Platform. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support@cardme.world. Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately; however, provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect.

14. Changes to These Terms

CardMe.World may revise these Terms from time to time. When material changes are made, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where practicable, notify registered users by email or in-Platform notice. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
